I’m Amanda Jefferson, owner of Indigo Organizing and one of the world’s first KonMari consultants.
I left an inspiring yet stressful 20-year career to start my own business because I believe that we are all too frazzled. We have too much stuff, not enough joy, and not enough time for the things that matter to us.
I spend my time in one of two ways:
1) working one-on-one with private clients to simplify and de-clutter their homes, or
2) speaking to groups about finding more joy and simplicity in our work and lives.
Here are a few things you might want to know about me:
I’ve dedicated my life to social impact. Whether it was consulting for international development in Washington, DC, designing executive leadership programs at the Wharton School, or heading up Summer Search Philadelphia, I’ve always wanted to do work that makes our world better.
I trained under Marie Kondo and her team as part of the inaugural class of KonMari trainees in New York City in Summer 2016. Soon, I’ll be a trainer myself, as one of only three other trainers alongside Marie in New York.
I’m on the board of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals - Greater Philadelphia Chapter (NAPO-GPC), which means I hold to the highest standards of ethics in the industry.
Chile is home away from home for us. I met my husband there while doing an internship in undergrad. (You can read more about that AND where my business name comes from here.) We have a daughter, and we speak Spanish at home.
I have a dual MBA from the Universidad de Chile and Tulane University. My very first class was Accounting. In Spanish. (I don’t recommend that.)
We’ve lived in the quaint, amazing town of Media, Pennsylvania for over ten years. If you haven’t been, you must come. I’ll walk you around. We’ll go to Deals and buy pens. #introvertpastimes
Today, in addition to helping people simplify their lives, I’m passionate about social justice and climate change. One of my favorite films, as it relates to these causes, is The True Cost. Learn more here.
